About Us

The Hmong Student Association at Berkeley was initially bridged from the Laotian American Student Representatives (LASR) in 2008 following the imprisonment of General Vang Pao in 2007. Linda Vue and other founding members established HSAB to provide a much needed space for the Hmong community to engage in meaningful dialogue about identity, culture, and student life.

Today, HSAB continues to represent a voice for the Hmong student community in Berkeley and provides academic and social support to current and prospective students. We aim to empower the next generation of leaders and inspire higher education in youth to uplift the Hmong community from the ground up.
