HSAB aims to retain current students and increase the enrollment of prospective students in higher education. We want to establish a stronger economic and social foundation in order to provide resources and opportunities such as scholarships, networking, and professional skills for our members. HSAB hopes to guide the development of future leaders who are able to engage at the regional and national level.
HSAB bridged off from LASR, the Laotian American Student Representatives. Its creation in 2008 followed the imprisonment of General Vang Pao in 2007. The founding members established HSAB
to provide a much needed space for the Hmong community to dialogue about issues relevant to identity as Hmong students.
